When recession occurs, the gum moves away from the tooth exposing the root to oral environment. You may notice a yellow discoloration under your white enamel on some of your teeth. Some of your teeth also may appear longer and have greater sensitivity when consuming hot or cold beverages. gum grafting may be appropriate treatment for you

Not all sensitive teeth are cause by recession. Cavities and damage to your tooth nerve may also cause your teeth to be sensitive. If your tooth ever wakes you up in the middle of the night or has lingering sensitivity you should seek emergent dental care from your general dental provider.
