What is a dental implant?
Dental implants are the most ideal tooth replacement treatment that dentistry has to offer. Single tooth dental implants are placed between teeth and when restored, function as an individual tooth. This makes flossing them and maintaining them significantly easier than a bridge. Unlike a denture they are fixed so you don’t have to worry about them being lost or displaced. When appropriately cared for, they may even last the rest of your life.

Timeline for Single-Tooth Implants:

Removal of tooth and placement of bone graft to aid in healing

Healing of 8-12 weeks to allow for proper bone formation and strength.

Placement of the dental implant (“screw” portion) into the prepared site
-
Healing period of 8-12 weeks for bone to fuse to the implant surface.

Restore the implant with a crown (This step will be completed by your dentist).

Follow up with Dr. Dempsey 6 months after implant restoration to ensure proper implant health
